Wine Buddy - Finding and Buying Wines You’ll Love

Last year we were approached to design a logo for a company specializing in Wine Tastings. Shortly after sign off he decided to move on with the second phase of the project - an online store. We relished this opportunity and got to it. After months of hard work and planning we’re pleased to announce the launch of www.wine-buddy.com.
Wine Buddy says - “Wine Buddy is the wine merchant that puts taste at the heart of everything. Because we know that if you don’t like the taste of a wine then you won’t drink it again - unless you’re being silly. That taste focus begins with the selection of wines for the Wine Buddy cellar. Wine Buddy tastes thousands of wines before selecting those wines that taste fabulous enough to merit a place in the cellar. The result is that we stock some of the best tasting wines from some of the world’s best wine-makers”.

The result of the work is an online store that we’re proud to be part of, and that the Wine Buddy himself is very pleased with.

We wish him every success with the site, and recommend that our readers click to the site and start buying some great tasting wines.

(and also enjoy the very funny and irreverent comments throughout the site!).

Is your brand losing you business?

The quality of your branding can mean the difference between success and failure. No matter what size your business is, branding is essential to differentiate yourself from the competition. It’s your personality. And it needn’t cost the earth. How you’re perceived will depend on the effort you put into your marketing communication.
Your logo is central to your brand. Compare your logo with your competitors. If it’s not better or at least as compelling, then you need some logo surgery. Without a logo - or worse, with a poorly designed one - your organisation may look amateurish. You may be thinking “I can live without a logo”. Yes, you probably can. But, a great logo will help your customers identify with you and is more likely to help you success. Red Fred have years of experience creating great logos and building brands We’d be more than happy to help you with a new identity.

It isn’t just about your logo though. Keep a similar “look and feel” through all of your communications to help people become familiar with your brand. Familiarity leads to trust. Trust leads to sales. And we don’t have to point out what sales lead to. Apply a consistent look and feel to any marketing material, products and advertising through coherent use of colours, themes, design element and typefaces. We’ll help you with this. Remember, if you can see it, you can brand it.

Have a look at our new portfolio page to see some logos we’re proud of.

Is your stationery breaking the law?

New laws are now in force which require companies and limited liability partnerships to make sure that their legal name is stated in legible lettering on all letters, order forms, invoices, receipts, websites and emails. Check now. Are you complying with the law?
It doesn’t stop there. You’re also breaking the law if your letterheads don’t have the following printed on them:

• Your place of registration (ie England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland)

• Your company registration number

• Your registered office address

It’s not really in our interest for our customers to be in jail, so please check that you’re not a Larry Law-breaker. If you are, we won’t tell - just stop using your old letterheads and get some new ones printed sharpish!

If you’re considering a website and haven’t had an online presence previously, we have a simple questionnaire you can download to get us off on the right foot.

The questions are designed to be answered quickly and just to give us some insight into what you expect to get from your site - it’s just one page.
It also aims to give you a little insight into the design process and how we can both help each other to make the most of the project. Download here

Analytics reveal Bejing interest in Printing.com Nantwich…

One of the tools we use to keep an eye on who visits our websites is Google Analytics. This is a great tool, giving you details of how many hits your site is getting, where the hits are nationally and globally, which keywords people are using to find your site and much more.

This morning I logged in to view data for http://www.nantwich-printing.com and was surprised to see that someone in Bejing had been on the site for a few minutes - perhaps Gail Emms is considering some business cards?

Google Analytics is a free service which requires a small amount of code to be added to each page wishing to be tracked, only a small amount of work for what you get out of it.

If you’d like to take advantage of this tool please get in touch and we can have you scanning your Analytics results by the following day.

Simon takes Red Fred to new heights

Simon took part in the Three Peaks Challenge over the 1 and 2 August. The trip was organised by one of our clients, Jones Sheridan, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and The Wingate Centre.

The three adventurers, Simon, Rob and Ollie, started at the base of Ben Nevis (1,344m) on Friday afternoon. The weather wasn’t ideal with low cloud and rain and there was even some snow at the top. However the climb went well and the team were back at the car in just under 5 hours.

After several hours in the car, driven by Rob’s (Jones Sheridan) dad, Scafell Pike (978m) loomed into view. Starting at 5am, the weather had deteriorated and the climb was done in heavy showers and icy winds. This didn’t slow proceedings though and this was completed in 3.5 hours.

Traffic near Chester meant a diversion through Corwen on the way to Snowdon (1,085m). The weather had got better and the team were ready for the final furlong. Rob’s dad also decided to join them. As it was Saturday afternoon, the tracks were busy and this slowed proceedings slightly, but the intervals of sun made it a better climb than the previous two, despite the aching thighs and knees. The Miner’s track was used for the ascent which took around 2 hours, followed by the descent on the Pyg track which took about 1.5 hours.

The challenge was completed in under 24 hours.

Red Fred were pleased to receive their new signage recently, putting the icing on the cake following the office move.

As well as making it easier for existing clients to find the offices, we also hope that the signage will help us attract new business.

We are extremely pleased with the move and the space and facilities that the new office provides, including a seperate meeting room.

Team Red Fred were well represented in the Cheshire Triathlon on 1 June. Jon and Simon battled it out in the 390-strong ‘sprint’ triathlon field. Jon had previously competed in the 2007 event and Simon was keen to utilise his running experience, having run both the Bristol and Bath half marathons. As they had trained together they knew it would be close between them.
Simon was first to go off and finished with a respectable time of 1hr 18m 27s, with Jon’s start time being 25 minutes after Simon’s (So no idea of how each other were doing), he finished in 1hr 18m 0s! Both were well inside the top half of the field.

Over £200 was raised for Hope House Children’s Hospice.

Red Fred is moving premises. Our existing office has served us well but the team has grown with the addition of Simon and we now feel it’s time for a bigger office. (Image showing signs is artist’s impression only at present)
But don’t worry though, as you won’t have much further to travel if you come for a meeting - the new office is on the Princes Court Business Park, adjacent to our existing office. There’s plenty more space to let us expand our minds and two rooms means that meetings will no longer be as compact! We plan to open with a flurry and it’s likely we will have an opening event, so look out for details. The move is expected to be mid June.
