Late last year we were approached by Envirolink Northwest about a re-brand and website for Northwest Electronics Recycling. The name Relectricals was chosen by the client and we built the new brand and website inline with the clients ideas.
The site uses Expression Engine for its content management system, meaning the client can easily update pages, including news and blog pages. The look and feel of the new site is a million miles away from the previous corporate feeling site. We have also used javascript and Flash to bring the site to life, hopefullly broadening the audience and helping get an important message to the younger generation

Simon donned a santa suit and beard on Sunday morning in support of the Railway Children charity.
The first ever Cheshire Santa Dash saw several hundred runners complete either 2 (2.5km) or 4 (5km) laps of the town. Simon admits to feeling a bit worse for wear on the morning, after a friends reunion the night before, but managed to complete the 5km in 23 minutes. He raised nearly £100 for charity.

We haven’t posted for a while so I thought I’d take this opportunity to mention some of the projects we’ve been working on recently.
Aqueduct Marina is an excellent client we have had the good fortune of working with them from before the marina was built – work which has included branding and three websites along with signage and other publicity. The most recent project is the Aqueduct Brokerage website. The site uses a content management system that allows the client to publish pages for each boat and create thumbnail galleries, all using one form. The site has been a great help in growing this side of the business.

Sotkon are company providing underground waste solutions (bins!). The company is based in Portugal and have recently opened up a UK office in Nantwich. Red Fred were approached about working with the company, and since have provided SEO and home page redevelopment, stationery, commercial brochure in six languages and an innovative piece of direct mail. Jon also got flown over to Portugal on a photographic assignment!

Joseph Wareing is a company offering high quality male grooming products. Red Fred have developed their branding and are currently working on an ecommerce solution for their products which include shaving, hair and skin care products. Watch this space for details of the site’s launch.

We have recently been working on a new brochure for Mrs Darlington’s. This has included complete new set of photography which we did in-house and new labels for the entire range - over 70 products.

We also continue to work for a range of other clients, from sole traders up to large companies. Whether it’s a business card, leaflet or brochure, a video or ecommerce solution you are looking for, we can offer the full range of services including all your printing needs.

flybeshopping.com

RED FRED were recently asked to design and develop a new ecommerce site for Flybe, Europe’s largest regional low-cost airline.

www.flybeshopping.com was officially launched today when over 1 million people received an email with a link to the airlines new website.
The site offers a range of products that are usually available on flights, with the advantage of Flybe paying the VAT. There are also a large range of discontinued items available at hugely discounted prices.

We chose to use the excellent Tradingeye shopping cart and content management system for this project due to it’s accessibility and ease of customisation. As designers we can easily change the whole look and feel of the site by simply changing the CSS stylesheet.

The resulting product is a clearly designed site with easy navigation which also retains Flybe’s vibrant brand.

Leggets produce luxury gifts and shooting accessories made from ostrich leather, and RED FRED recently launched their new website.
The site was developed to capture the high quality of the products available, while also being built with SEO in mind and more traffic through Google.

The site offers a fusion of classic and clean, modern design to help appeal to different generations, with items like the hip flask available in pink and blue hoping to capture the eye of the younger browser.

New online presence for construction companies

RED FRED have recently been working with three different construction companies to give them a greater online presence. Sister companies, Pioneer Construction and Refurb Solutions have just had their sites launched.
Construction Linx is another local company that RED FRED have been working with for some time, a partnership that started with a rebrand. All three companies have seen their sites go live in the last few weeks, accompanied by some great feedback. The standard of design and development has been compared to that of a London based agency - however, we can guarantee our fees are well below.

A whole 16 days have passed and we haven’t even mentioned the new president, or the snow!

Let’s hope that this is the beginning of something great for America, and indeed the rest of the world!

Whilst Red Fred have had a busy start to the year, we’re still looking to the year ahead with excitement.

On my web travels, I did find something interesting, if not a bit geeky!!
As our clients know, we’re always harping on about image resolution. It’s imperative for great image reproduction on your litho or large format print.

It seems digital photography and image processing have taken the next giant leap. An American photographer called David Bergman took this amazing photo. Using a special robotic camera mount called Gigapan, he documented the historic occasion of the Inauguration with over 200 high resolution images which were automatically stitched together. Zoom in and look at the incredible detail!

The result is an amazing panoramic image which feels like the old Where’s Wally books!

Red Fred have recently completed several new projects, including websites for Go Plant, Nantwich Hire and a new Flash site for Skytrac.
Go Plant is one of the country’s leading plant hire companies, having over 20 depots throughout the UK - these can be seen on the clear Flash interactive map we created for them.

Nantwich Hire is a local company who needed a separate website from their other associated companies. They had an existing brand and wanted the site to reflect this while being search engine friendly - something we build into all our sites using valid XHTML and CSS. The banner uses javascript to create a simple slideshow effect.

Skytrac supply food to the airline and rail industries, and wanted to reflect their dynamic work environment with a Flash site. We had previously rebranded this company and the design of the website works together with the new Skytrac logo resulting in a fresh and clean site.
